Vocational Rehabilitation & Employment Program

Have you been disabled or injured in the Armed Forces? You may be entitled to join the Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment Program (VR&E).  This program gives all disabled veterans the assistance needed to recoup and transition properly into a career field suited for their disability so that they can function in society.  If you have been injured in any of the Armed Forces and have a service-connected disability then this program is provided for you! The liaisons in the Armed Forces that handle disability claims may not always tell you all of the benefits available to you. The Law Firm of Kazmierczak & Kazmierczak in New Jersey can aid you in receiving your rightful veteran benefits.

Are you suffering from a service-connected disability? Contact an experienced Veteran Benefit Lawyer at the Law Firm of Kazmierczak & Kazmierczak today to learn more about the Veteran benefits you are entitled to!

Some of the programs offered for disabled veterans by the Voc Rehab include:

  • Rehabilitation Evaluation and Planning
  • Vocational Counseling
  • Employment Services
  • Post-secondary School
  • Payment of School
  • Living Allowance While Attending School
  • Independent Living Services

In order for a veteran to be evaluated for Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment Program services, the veteran must have been discharged honorably prior to the evaluation or will be shortly after.  The second requirement is that the veteran must have a disability rating percentage due to a service-connected disability.  The final requirement consists of submitting a finished application to the Voc Rehab services.

A disability rating of 30 percent or more will automatically enable you for the Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment Program.  If you have a disability rating under 30 percent, you may still be eligible for the program services.  To ensure your claim is given the best attention by the board, you will need the assistance of an experienced Veteran Benefit Lawyer.  The Lawyers at Kazmierczak & Kazmierczak will guide you through the application process to ensure all your paperwork is written properly with documentation of your medical condition so that you will be eligible for the Voc Rehab Program. Most veterans are denied the first round of this process and usually succeed in the following appeals process with the help of a Veterans Benefit Lawyer.

With most service-connected disabilities it is not uncommon for that disability to create a new disability as a result of the prior injury. An example of this is a person who has a knee replacement and has trouble standing tends to shift all their weight to the other side of their body causing their back to not align properly.  The second disability comes in years later when they have chronic back problems.  This is considered the second disability because the person most likely would have never had back problems if it was not for their injury to their knee in the Armed Forces.  You may be entitled to another percentage to increase you current disability status as a veteran.  To ensure you are applying for your correct benefits and are given the fair amount of benefits you deserve, contact an experienced Veteran Benefit Lawyer today.
