House Democrats Propose Tens of Billions in New Federal Programs
The House Appropriations Committee has proposed tens of billions of dollars in new federal programs and $500 million of that money will go to the Social Security Administration to help process disability and retirement claims. The House Democrats have proposed over $800 billion in a new stimulus package for new federal programs to help the struggling economy jump start itself. Of that $800 billion, $500 million of it will go towards the Social Security Administration.
It has become an increasing problem across the country to have a social security disability claim heard in a court of law and ruled on by a judge. Judges are supposed to clear close to 500 cases per year regarding disability claims as defined by the SSA but not that many judges even clear half of that number in a calendar year. The House Appropriations Committee is hoping that a $500 million grant from a new stimulus package will help speed up the process of hearing and ruling on disability and retirement claims by the Social Security Administration.
