A report from the United States House Oversight Committee claims that President Bush and his staff failed to implement thousands of recommendations, one including the closer monitoring of the Social Security disability program, which could have saved the country $2 billion annually. A lot of the other recommendations laid out by Bush's team were never investigated either; some of which would have also saved the country billions of dollars each year. The other programs were telecommunication contracts, a FEMA crackdown on excessive billing for a Hurricane Katrina contract, food inspection, homeland security and much more.
All of these programs could have resulted in the country saving over $25 billion annually.
